Building on BTR’s nationally recognized and replicated model of teacher preparation, Dudley Street School hosts several aspiring teachers each year for an intense, full-year residency. Teacher residents work side-by-side with our expert staff, acting as additional classroom support for students. Our faculty share responsibility for residents’ learning. In return, these new teachers bring fresh energy and a spirit of inquisitiveness that enrich our professional culture.
BTR also provides intensive, school-based coaching and support for new and experienced teachers, helping them to meet their professional and student learning goals. Teachers have opportunities to observe one another work, receive feedback on their teaching, engage in cycles of inquiry, analyze data, reflect on practice, support and push each other to grow.
As a site of excellent, innovative teacher practice and deep professional learning, we are committed to producing new teachers who are well prepared to raise student achievement throughout the city.
